Brief
Hotel Fort Canning came to us to produce a branding video that integrate the hotel together with its surroundings.
The last branding video of the hotel was done half decade ago, it is due for a new one, especially after the pandemic hit. The project has to align with the Singapore Tourism Board’s Rediscover Singapore theme, to feature local getaway and spots to appeal to locals as well as foreigners.
It has been awhile since we last produced a hotel branding video due to the pandemic situation.

Process
We came up with the concept of “moment to remember” to relate to little surprises and experiences that touch the audience’s heart at every turns at the hotel. We have integrated a lot more human expression to strengthen these unforgettable moments.
To render the colonial charm of the hotel and the natural beauty of the Fort Canning Part, we decided to go with the Orion anarmophic lenses to render a cinematic yet vintage look.
The lens produces beautiful oval bokeh, it is not overly sharp, giving an unique characteristic to the look of the final product.
The Effort
Though I have done a lot of hotel branding videos, it’s a new learning curve to me this time, to shoot with the Orion anarmophic lenses as they are really heavy, as well as there were a lot of outdoor scenes, setup time and travel time were quite consuming in this project. It was a small crew of 5 over 2 days, I am quite happy with what we managed to pull through!
